About Me
I believe that being knowledgeable is so very important but so is having a level of comfortability with someone. I hope this section allows you a brief glance into who I am as an individual.

My time in Public Education
I worked in a Special Education classroom setting with mild/moderate students for three years as an inclusion, resource, and self-contained teacher. During that time, I worked with many wonderful students who all had unique and complex characteristics. During that time, I realized that I wanted to continue to work with students but in a different capacity. While completing my Masters in Special Education and Elementary Education, I decided to take additional courses to obtain my Educational Diagnostician certification.
Once I received that certification, I became an Educational Diagnostician and remained one for five years. As a Diagnostician, I was part of the evaluation team that completed FIEs (Full and Individual Evaluation). My role during this process was to administer formal cognitive and achievement assessments, gather informal data from teachers/parents, gather state and district data, observe the child in the school setting, along with many other things. I then would compile the data, write the FIE report, and make a recommended eligibility recommendation. In addition to this, I lead all ARD/IEP meetings, updated and reviewed ARD/IEP paperwork, completed triennial evaluations, consulted with parents, consulted with teachers and administrators, etc.
My family
Family is my everything! I come from an amazing, large, family. Education runs in our blood with my Mom, sister, and me all working or previously having worked in Public Education (my Mom will be retiring from teaching after this year!). I have an amazing husband who is incredibly supportive, a super sweet (and sassy) daughter and a goofy, fun loving son. We love to travel and go on adventures together. Some of our favorite activities together are hiking, watching movies, riding our bikes, swimming, going to the beach, and just laughing and having fun with each other.
Growing up, my Dad always taught me to help others and be empathetic. I believe these core values are what led me to become an educator with a focus in students with exceptional needs. My Dad died a few years ago by I strive every day to carry on his legacy.
